Why We Should Never Fine Cyclists
This article from The Atlantic Cities came across our desks this morning and it did get us thinking. In our travels through Phoenix, we see plenty of dangerous cycling activities — some of us have been hit by a cyclist going full speed on the sidewalk. We disagree with the author’s wholesale suggestion to not fine cyclists but we believe that there are some changes to traffic laws that are more sensitive to cyclists that ought to be made.
Forget the penalties—bike riders shouldn’t have to obey laws designed for 4,000-pound automobiles.Let us know here or on our Facebook page: what are your thoughts?
